Types of Insulation:
EnergyStar Insulation offers several different types of insulation products. The two most common are 1/2 lb open cell and 2.0 lb closed cell SPF. Both seal the building envelope better than any other insulation products available in the marketplace today, but there are some noticible differences between the two.
Icynene, the industry leader, offers two different types of 1/2lb Open-Cell Polyurethane Foam. The first is spray applied and used for new construction or complete renovations where the drywall or plaster is to be removed and replaced.
